The VZO series are mechanical positive-displacement counters differentiated primarily by flow-range capacity and thread size. The VZO8 is rated for lower flow rates, the VZO15 for mid-range, and the VZO20 for higher-volume applications. All three operate on the same measuring principle (gear-based displacement) and are available with mechanical dials, impulse outputs, or pulse-output modules for electronic monitoring. Yes. Aquametro counters are installed directly into the fuel line via threaded ports (typically SAE or metric). Installation requires a brief shutdown to fit the counter in-line between the pump discharge and the burner fuel inlet. No valve replacement is necessary if the line diameter matches the counter inlet/outlet size. Always follow the pressure-drop specifications in the datasheet to ensure the counter does not restrict flow to the burner.

The VZO with impulse output generates an electrical pulse signal (typically reed switch or Hall-effect) proportional to the volume dispensed. One pulse typically equals 0.1 or 1 litre, depending on the model configuration. This signal can be wired directly to a burner controller, flow computer, or building management system (BMS) for real-time fuel consumption logging and alarm generation if flow drops below expected levels.

Aquametro mechanical counters meet repeatability and accuracy standards typical of industrial fuel-monitoring applications. However, custody-transfer or legal-metrology use may require calibration certificates and specific approvals depending on your jurisdiction. Positive-displacement counters have minimal moving parts and require no routine maintenance beyond periodic visual inspection for leaks or mechanical damage. No calibration drift occurs; mechanical gear counters maintain accuracy indefinitely if kept clean and dry.

Aquametro VZO counters are designed for mineral oils, diesel, heating oil, and similar fluid fuels within standard ISO VG 2–46 viscosity ranges. Do not use in gasoline, solvents, or highly corrosive fluids without confirming material compatibility with the manufacturer. Always verify the specific viscosity and fluid grade against the product datasheet before commissioning.
