BRYANT GFCI
Pertanyaan yang Sering Diajukan
Pertanyaan umum tentang BRYANT GFCI dari 3G Electric.
What is the difference between BRYANT GFCI models GF15W and GFT15W?
The GF15W is a standard duplex GFCI receptacle rated 15 A, 125 V AC, in white. The GFT15W is a tamper-resistant version of the same electrical rating. The tamper-resistant model includes internal shutters that block access to the contact slots unless a two-prong plug is inserted evenly, meeting NEC requirements for tamper-resistant receptacles in areas such as child-occupied facilities. Both provide Class A GFCI protection and are UL 943 listed.
Are BRYANT GFCI receptacles suitable for outdoor use?
BRYANT GFCI receptacles are rated for indoor use but can be installed in wet or damp locations when used with a listed weather-resistant cover that is appropriate for the environment. The receptacles themselves are not weather-resistant unless specified. For outdoor installations, ensure the cover is rated for wet locations and the receptacle is protected from direct moisture exposure. The GFCI function provides ground-fault protection in such settings.
What wiring methods are supported by BRYANT GFCI receptacles?
BRYANT GFCI duplex receptacles support both back wiring (using push-in terminals for #14 AWG solid copper wire) and side wiring (using screw terminals for #14 to #10 AWG copper or copper-clad wire). The back wiring option is limited to solid wire only. Side wiring allows for more secure connections with stranded wire. Always follow local electrical codes and the manufacturer's installation instructions.
How do I test a BRYANT GFCI receptacle to ensure it is functioning?
Press the TEST button on the receptacle. The RESET button should pop out, and power to the receptacle should be interrupted. Then press the RESET button to restore power. If the RESET button does not pop out when TEST is pressed, or if the receptacle does not reset, the device may be faulty and should be replaced. This test should be performed monthly per manufacturer recommendations.
Can BRYANT GFCI receptacles be used on 20 A circuits?
Yes, BRYANT offers 20 A GFCI receptacles (e.g., GF20I, GFT20W) that are rated for 20 A, 125 V AC. These can be installed on 20 A branch circuits. Note that 15 A GFCI receptacles are also available and can be used on 15 A or 20 A circuits, but they are limited to 15 A of continuous load. Always match the receptacle rating to the circuit breaker and load requirements.
