These amplifier\n modules provide flame scanning capabilities using any of the Fireye standard ultraviolet scanners,\n self-check scanners, infrared scanners, cadmium sulfide scanners and flame rods. The Flame Failure\n Response Time (FFRT) of the control is determined by the selection of the amplifier module (see\n Ordering Information). Test jacks are provided on the amplifier modules to permit flame signal mea-\n surement during operation and is a uniform 0-10 vdc for all models.\n After scanner selection, the proper amplifier module must be used in the Modular 3G-OTH-02818 chassis\n (see Ordering Information). The amplifier module incorporates a plug-in design for ease of installa-\n tion.\n The programmer module determines the operational characteristics of the control (e.g. relight, purge\n timing, etc.).\n For proper and safe application of this product, you must refer to bulletin MC-5000 for a detailed\n description of the operation of the Modular 3G-OTH-02818 control, including installation instructions,\n operating sequences for the programmer modules, etc. Also follow the scanner installation and wir-\n ing instructions found in bulletins MC-5000 for proper flame scanning operation.\n\n\n\n\n WARNING: Selection of this control for a particular application should be made by a com-\n petent professional, licensed by a state or other government agency. Inappropriate application\n of this product could result in an unsafe condition hazardous to life and property. Installation\n should not be considered complete until pilot turndown and other appropriate performance\n tests have been successfully completed.\n\n\n\n\n 1\n\f \n\n\n\n\nORDERING INFORMATION\nFlame Amplifier Selection:\n\n 3G-OTH-02818 Amplifier Models:\n MEUV1 UV amplifier,0.8 second FFRT, uses UV1A, UV2, UV8A and 45UV3-1050 scanners.\n MEUV4 UV amplifier, 4 second (max) FFRT, uses UV1A, UV2, UV8A and 45UV3-1050 scanners.\n MEUVS1 UV Self-Check amplifier,0.8 second FFRT, uses 45UV5-1009 scanner.\n MEUVS4 UV Self-Check amplifier, 4 second (max) FFRT, uses 45UV5-1009 scanner.\n MERT1 Flame Rod / Photocell amplifier,0.8 second FFRT, uses 69ND1 or 45CM1 (obsolete).\n MERT4 Flame Rod / Photocell amplifier, 4 second (max) FFRT, uses 69ND1 or 45CM1 (obsolete).\n MEIR1 Infrared amplifier0,.8 second FFRT, uses 48PT2 scanner.\n MEIR4 Infrared amplifier, 4 second (max) FFRT, uses 48PT2 scanner.\n MECD1 Cadmium sulfide amplifier,0.8 second FFRT, uses CS1A5 scanner.\n MECD4 Cadmium sulfide amplifier, 4 second (max) FFRT, uses CS1A5 scanner.\n\n\nFLAME SCANNERS\n\n\n\n\n CAUTION: The UV1, UV2, UV8A, UV90 and 45UV3 ultra-violet flame scanners and associated\n amplifier modules are non self-checking UV systems and should be applied only to burners that\n cycle often (e.g.: a minimum of once per 12 hours) in order for the safety checking circuit to be\n exercised. If component checking is required during burner operation for constantly fired burners,\n utilize the self-checking ultra-violet flame scanners (45UV5) with associated amplifier module\n (MEUVS1, MEUVS4) or the infrared flame scanner (48PT2) with associated Auto Check amplifier\n (MEIR1, MEIR4).\n\n UV SCANNERS: BULLETIN\n UV1A3 1/2” NPT connector, 3 ft.
