The InSight Series 4\nscanners utilize advanced techniques for discrimination and integrate\nthe flame detection, amplification, safety determination and flame\nswitch functions into a single detection head. No separate amplifier\nor flame switch module is therefore required to interface with the\nmain burner management system.\n\nThe InSight Series 4 scanners incorporate the superior detection and\ndiscrimination elements of the popular InSight II product with some\nenhanced features. The scanner measures the amplitude of the .\nmodulations (the flame “flicker”) that occur within the targeted flame.\nDuring the scanner set-up procedure, the modulation frequency\nthat yields the best flame ON/OFF discrimination is selected. The\nappropriate modulation frequency and sensor gain can be either\nmanually or automatically selected.
